Have you heard the news?!
The Morinville News is one of our outstanding Diamond Sponsors! We love the Morinville News over at Morinville Public; a great local news source and invaluable contributors to our community. From their About section on Facebook:
Community news requires an active participation in the community and
staff that are invested and rooted in the community they cover.
We have been lucky to enjoy their support at each of our Carnivals and are thrilled to have them back again this year. Make sure to check them out online and through Facebook, and keep an eye out for the Carnival posters within their pages.

Sharpen up your sweet tooth
This year's Carnival is featuring a heck of a lot of volunteers and sponsors, but Rita Bazinet of Chez Rita's might take the cake... pun COMPLETELY intended. Rita is providing cake pops to Carnival guests free of cost and well, let's just say that that is a LOT of cake! Thank you so much for your generosity, Rita!

*New* Playground
The sole fundraising focus of Carnival is by way of our outstanding raffle, in direct support of Phase I of the *new* playground at Morinville Public School. Currently the playgroulnd is missing approximately one third of its equipment, and with the population of the community booming, well that just won't do! Additionally the playground is difficult to supervise and provides little in the way of consideration of our many students with special needs. Phase I will focus on providing much needed space, long lasting, popular pieces (all the favourites: monkey bars, slides, poles, you name it!), and additional zones for children with sensory challenges ie. autism. Phase I is intended to act as the lynchpin for the additional upgrades we hope to see in the future. These would include upgraded equipment, more natural environments including greenspaces, spots for kids AND their families, and many opportunities for outdoor learning, including outdoor classrooms.
First, we need to get Ph I in the ground. A donation camapaign is live right now and we would love your support. Every toonie counts! You can also purchase tickets to the raffle or donate directly right at Carnival, June 14th. An ATM will be on site.
You can see the plans for PhI below:

The Jessica Martel Memorial Foundation
We are especially proud to support and work together with the Jessica Martel Memorial Foundation for the second year in a row. They will be on hand with information on
the foundation and it's resources, and are always willing to answer
questions and provide confidential support. They will also be
registering people for the 2nd Annual Jessica Martel Memorial Run, to be
held June 22nd, 2014. Last year the run raised nearly *$20,000 to support
the victims of domestic violence!
You can register online by clicking the link below:

About the foundation:
We love the Littles!
There's a place for ALL children at Carnival and that includes our
"Littles", those munchkins from 1-5 or so. Often these little guys get
left behind while the big kids have all the fun, but not at Carnival,
nope! They've got their own little zone complete with giant colouring
wall, their OWN bouncy castle, and fun games just for them! Add on
early education experts and info galore for the grownups, and you're
set! Can't wait to see all our favorite little folks again, June 14th!

Start 'em Young
The Community Carnival is proud to partner with many local community groups and programs. One close to OUR hearts is Sturgeon School Division Early Childhood Education. They will be on hand with tons of info on development stages, programming throughout the community, and solid advice for parents of young children. The GREAT part is that this will all be integrated into our wonderful "Toddler Zone", an area specifically designed for our "Littles", children from 1-5. So often these little guys get left behind while the big kids get all the fun, but not at Carnival! There will be a huge colouring wall, games, tons of info for parents, even a toddler-sized giant bouncer, just for them!
Thank you, Sponsors!
